Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone had some specific advice regarding applying to research positions abroad (specifically the U.S.).
Thanks

Hey Erfun,
From my understanding there aren't many (if any) Schulich-specific resources for applying for research in the US (I could be wrong! But I tried looking / emailing around last year).
A strategy that has worked for me (and some others as well) is to just email professors whose research you are interested in, sharing your qualifications etc. See if they have availability for a student researcher, and then you can have the funding discussion.
Sources of funding in the US for international students are typically private sources - so charities, medical associations, hospitals, etc. (Being good at Googling is an asset here). These opportunities are often unique to the field of study - The professor might have his own ideas for funding sources as well. Funding isn't always necessary though, all depends on whether or not you care about being paid ~2-5k for a summer.
I'm sure there are different ways to go about this, the above is what I did.
If you / anyone wants to talk specifics, just post below!
